cd-cover-meme, lyric-mashup

yes, i admit it, i e-meme. p. ford today not only gave a shout out to my humble blog, but provided a meme which occupied two hours which otherwise might have been spent reading things for his class.

this little game creates utterly convincing cd-album covers. sure, they can't all be westminster gold, but some of the results are great. the steps for the meme are simple:

1. your band name is the first random wikipedia article you pull up.

2. your album title is the last four words of the last quote on this page.

3. your album cover is the third picture featured here.

4. photoshop.

5. share!

my results thus far:

not to be out done, i decided to make my own meme. what is a good cd cover without good songs . . . right? this game is really just a mash up of the one above. here goes:

1. your song is going to have a title, a chorus, and two versus . . . is that too conformist for you? too bad. deal.

2. song title is the first random wikipedia article you pull up.

3. the first verse is the mash up of the first four words of the first four quotes and the last four words of the last four quotes from here. pair the first quotes first words with the last quotes last words, and so on.

4. the second verse is a mash up like the first, but refresh for a new page o' quotes.

5. the chorus you ask? the title of your song, four times, of course!

6. if you are feeling grammariffic, add prepositions and make verbs make sense (if possible). or don't let the grammar-man tell you what to do and skip it.

7. post the lyrics or--if you are feeling rather adventurous--record the thing.

here's my first effort:
100 people who are screwing up america

we are so accustomed to watching tv by candlelight
curiosity killed the cat i never saw before.
those who speak most the more it will contract.
the only way to have no fear from death.

100 people who are screwing up america [x4]

famous remarks are very seldom quoted wisely and well.
a child of five for a few dollars.
he can make me from the ears up.
the covers of this think you cannot do.

100 people who are screwing up america [x4]
groovy, eh?

The Flirt and the Bandit

Facts are stupid things and torture the living
Toughness doesn’t have to have lived one’s life properly
Familiarity breeds contempt and any of my friends
There is a coherent plan for how to waste space

The flirt and the bandit (x4)

When I hear it is beyond human beings
You cannot escape the content in your writing
There will be little for excellence not perfection
He who wonders discovers something we do not understand

amanda and micaëla--

good work. all that is left is forming a band, recording the songs, and producing the cd.

Beauty is the first rotten base for politics.
There is no such thing as a superstructure of imposition.
In parts of the world, assistance of unsuspecting musicians.
Necessity knows no law, a new way of seeing.
